Cataract Surgery in Vadodara

We offer Cataract Surgery in Vadodara. However, our parent company Centre for Sight is one of the highest volume cataract clinic chains in the world. They offer cataract surgery services at several centers in New Delhi, Agra, Meerut, Moradabad, Indore, Patiala, Chandigarh, Hyderabad, Jodhpur, Ajmer and Ludhiana.

Generally, a cataract occurs when the natural lens of the eye becomes cloudy. Most times, this is because of aging, though at times, it can be genetic, or because of trauma or a drug reaction. When the natural lens becomes cloudy, it is not possible for all the light entering the eye to reach the retina, and thus the images seen by the eyare blurred or cloudy.

The only solution for such a cloudy cataractous lens is to remove the lens, and replace it with an artificial lens made of a clear polymer material.

This can be accomplished, in most cases, by a procedure known as Phacoemulsification. This is the latest advance in cataract removal. Phacoemulsification is safer and more effective than other conventional methods used to remove cataract. In Phaco surgery, a small ultrasound probe is inserted into the eye. This probe breaks (emulsifies) the cloudy lens into tiny pieces and gently sucks these pieces out of the eye. Phaco requires a really small incision to remove the lens. This result’s in very fast healing and vision recovery.

In extraordinary circumstances, for example when the cataract surgery has been delayed and the lens has become very hard, your doctor may choose an alternative technique, such as ECCE (Extra Capsular Cataract Surgery) or SICS (Small Incision Cataract Surgery).

Our Cataract Surgery in Vadodara Center offers a variety of different implants to suit different   budgets. These include multifocal lenses, Aspheric Lenses, and MICS lenses. We can perform Cataract Surgery through an incision as small as 1.8 mm.
